CARMINE COMPOTARO DIES AT AGE 64
Carmine Compotaro, 64, of 510 Washington Ave., died Saturday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wilmington, Del.
He was a lifelong resident of Vineland and a self-employed mason.
Mr. Compotaro was a lifetime member of Semper Marine Detachment here. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the American Defense Service Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. He was also awarded a Good Conduct Medal during the war.
He was a member of St. Isidore's Church here.
He is survived by son, Edward of Monroeville; his mother, Antoinetta of Vineland, with whom he lived; a brother, Dominick of Norma; a sister, Marguerita A. Compotaro of Vineland; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in St. Isidore's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial and Communion will be offered at 8 p.m. Final Commendation will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery here. Friends also will be received after 8:30 a.m. at the church.
Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
