FORMER RESIDENT KILLED IN ALABAMA
Nicholas Compotaro, age 30, formerly of Washington ave., Vineland, was killed at 4 P. M. Sunday in an accident at Roanoke, Ala., a telegram from his wife, Margaret, to his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Compotaro, of Washington ave. disclosed today.
No details were given on the nature of the accident. The telegram stated he was killed in Roanoke. Mrs. Compotaro received a letter this morning from her son in which he stated he and his wife would move back to Vineland in the near future. Prior to leaving Vineland in August, 1945 the deceased was employed at the Recreation Billards and the DeLuxe Taxi Co.
Compotaro and his wife had been residing in Roanoke for the past two months, moving from Portland, Ore. Mrs. Compotaro's home was in Alabama but the couple met in Portland.
The deceased is survived by his wife, his parents; four brothers, Ralph Jr., Carmen, Angelo and Dominick and three sisters, Mrs. Millie Straus, of Camden; Mrs. Joseph Day of Cape May, and Miss Margaret Compotaro, of Vineland. Funeral arrangements are being completed in Vineland today.

REPORT VINELAND MAN MURDERED
It was learned this morning that Nicholas Compotaro, 30, formerly of Washington ave., Vineland, was murdered Sunday afternoon in Roanoke, Ala. However, all details were still lacking today. The sheriff of the district in Alabama disclosed that Compotaro had been murdered with a gun, the bullet piercing his head.
Compotaro's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Compotaro, of Washington ave., received a telegram from his wife, Margaret, Monday, in which she stated he was killed in an accident at 4 P.M. Sunday. She gave no other details.
Compotaro and his wife had been residing in Roanoke for the past two months, moving there from Portland, Ore. They planned to return to Vineland in the near future.
The body will be sent to Vineland where funeral services will be held.

MAN HELD FOR SLAYING COMPOTARO
The Associated Press reported today that R. D. Gosdin of Roanoke, Ala., has been arrested in the shotgun slaying of Nicholas Compotaro, 30, of Boulevard and Washington ave., Vineland, Sunday afternoon, Sheriff B. Gladstone Kirby announced.
The sheriff said the shooting took place in the Bethel Community in eastern Randolph county. He said details of a dispute between Gosdin and Compotaro had not yet been determined. The shotgun blast hit Compotaro in the skull.

FUNERAL NOTICES
COMPOTARO: Suddenly at Roanoke, Ala., on April 12, 1947, Nicholas Compotaro, in his 31st year.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Rone Funeral Chapel, Eighth and Montrose Sts., on Thursday, April 17th, at 2 P. M. Interment at Siloam Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rone Chapel this evening.

NICHOLAS COMPOTARO
The funeral of Nicholas Compotaro, age 30, of Washington ave. and S. East Boulevard, who was murdered in Roanoke, Ala. last Sunday, was held Thursday afternoon from the Rone Funeral Chapel. Services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Pignatiello of the Memorial Presbyterian Church. Interment in Siloam cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harry Richardson, Raymond Patch, Leo Naprava, Joseph Rocco, Carmen DePasquale and Nicholas Ceracola.
