NELLIE GARRETSON, 85
LIFELONG VINELAND RESIDENT, RETIRED L.P.N.
Nellie B. Garretson (Pierson), 85, of Vineland died Tuesday morning, Sept. 23, 2003, in South Jersey Healthcare, Newcomb Hospital after being in failing health.
Mrs. Garretson was born in Vineland and was a lifelong city resident. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Blanche Astle Pierson. She was also predeceased by two sons, Charles "Buddy" Weller and Edward Compotaro. Before retiring in 1965, Mrs. Garretson was employed as a L.P.N. at the Vineland Developmental Center, East Campus. She had previously been employed at the South Jersey Healthcare, Newcomb Hospital and had also worked for Dr. Thomas. Nellie enjoyed painting and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Frank I. Garretson one son, David Weller of Vineland one brother, Charles Pierson of South Vineland six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Road, Vineland where friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Head of the River Cemetery, Estell Manor.
